Puerto Rico

For spring break we had the amazing opportunity to go to Puerto Rico! It was amazing! It was just Jordan and I who went and it couldn't have been any better. We made no plans prior to going. We just wanted to get over there and then see what we felt like. It was relaxing and fun and the best part of the whole thing was the time Jordan and I had to spend together.
 Our cute hotel room!
First night we were there we walked all around by our hotel! If you looked over this pier you could see tons of fish swimming and it was crystal clear! The fish were all different colors.

Of course he wore the wrong shoes the first night there and got a big blister. I had to take a picture.

This was another pier we went to that same night. There were crabs all over the rocks at this place. We sat there and watched them forever. They were all different sizes and would jump from rock to rock.

Disgusting but they were awesome to watch!

Day 2, we spent the morning on the beach swimming. I don't have a picture. We were getting fried so we went and did some more exploring.

We went down to the bay. Not a whole lot to see down there but the boats were fun to look at.

This was a park right by our hotel. In parts of it were HUGE iguanas and lizards there were tons of them. Everywhere you would look you would see either an iguana or a lizard running. Jordan of course tried to catch one but was unsuccessful.

That night we went down to Old San Juan to have dinner!

Day 3: We spent the entire day down in Old San Juan. There is so much to see down there. We literally walked in a big circle around the outside of San Juan and then up an down the streets. Our first stop were these birds. At first Jordan thought it was disgusting. I am not letting them touch me and then the next minute he had them surrounding him!:) The pictures turned out really dark I was sad about that.

After the birds we made our way down to the big gate. There is a path around the outside of this gate that walks down around one of the forts. Back in the days they would shut and lock the gates at night. If the people weren't back inside before they shut them they would be locked out for the night.

After we walked along the path we went to search for the fort. We got a little lost along the way. We ended up walking up these big grass hills. We could see the fort but we couldn't figure out where all the people were or how to get to the fort.
We looked over and found all the people! That is the path that we were supposed to be on to get to the fort and we were SO far from that path. We were laughing so hard.

The view was amazing where we ended up. It was worth getting lost!

All of these pictures are from the fort.

We finally made it to the front! These forts were built by Spain to defend against those that tried to take over Puerto Rico. The forts were built in the 1700's and even used by the US during WWII. The main fort had 6 levels and the second fort had a lot of cool tunnels to go through.

Down in one of the tunnels. Jord loved the tunnels!

After we went to the forts. We walked back down to where we began the day to watch the sunset. It was amazing!

Cobble stone roads in Old San Juan.

The end of our night in Old San Juan

Day 4: That morning we got up early and went on a tour to the rain forest. I was so excited to see this but was a little disappointed with the tour. We had such a limited time and I felt like they were rushing us the whole time.

This is at the top of the tower at the rain forest. The view was breathtaking.

Day 5: We had lots planned for today! We started the day out by taking a Sailing Catamaran out to two different smaller islands off of Puerto Rico. We played in the water and went snorkeling. The beach was gorgeous. Jordan's sunburn is hilarious. It was so patchy. He needs practice putting on sunscreen.

Here are a few of the views we had.
